WomenTechIceland is a non-profit organization which hosts events, conversations and activities relating to women working in technology in Iceland.
Collection of personal information
WomenTechIceland collects personal information in connection with the use of its websites, and also when contacting us through email and social media.
Use of personal information
WomenTechIceland stores personal information on behalf of itself and uses it in accordance with applicable law.
You always have the right to contact WomenTechIceland for information about what personal data of your own is stored with WomenTechIceland at any given time. This policy explains how WomenTechIceland processes your personal information when you use our website. Different 3rd party organizations that WomenTechIceland may use are responsible for the storage and use of your information on their platforms (for example, Eventbrite, Squarespace, Google).
WomenTechIceland processes the personal information you provide in connection with the purpose of how you contact us. The information we collect is dependent on the purpose and can include your name, employer, email address, telephone number, address, and ID number, or other information that you provide when you use our website or contact us.
Deletion of personal information
Over time, WomenTechIceland may delete personal information. This is usually after 1 year but can be up to 3 years or more in some cases. If a user of the WomenTechIceland site wants us to remove their information from our database, they should send an e-mail to womentechiceland@gmail.com.
Who is responsible for your personal information?
WomenTechIceland (ID no. 560421-1680, Álfhólsvegur 117, 200 Kópavogur) is responsible for matters concerning personal information collected into its database, and for the processing of personal information through its website, and that it is processed in accordance with applicable law.
Why does WomenTechIceland use personal information?
Your personal information is used by WomenTechIceland to enable you to:
Register and/or attend WomentechIceland and WomenTechIceland partner events
Correspond about matters relating to WomenTechIcelnd’s activities
Submit an application for, participate in and correspond about WomenTechIceland incubators and other activities.
Who has access to your personal information?
Personal information is processed by the founders of WomenTechIceland and, in some cases, volunteers performing duties on behalf of WomenTechIceland and by contacts related to the privacy of WomenTechIceland activities (such as 3rd party software and online service providers). As long as there is no legal obligation to disclose personal information, it will not be passed on to third parties who are not directly involved in or providing service to WomenTechIceland for its activities. WomenTechIceland never publishes or sells personal information for marketing purposes to third parties. Everyone who has access to the data is obliged to process it only in accordance with GDPR Act no. 90/2018.
How long is personal information stored?
WomenTechIceland stores your personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the users needs at any given time. This is usually between 1-3 years, but can be longer if a user is active with the organization for a longer period.

WomenTechIceland takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information processed. The measures provide security that complies with current data protection legislation and is relevant taking into account:
